Studente Sandy vertelt: today we went to Schiermonnikoog!

Today, me and some other High School Holland students living in the North of Holland, went to Schiermonnikoog. We travelled with our local co-ordinators (LC). After we met in Groningen Station, we went to the harbor for boat trip to the island. It took 45 minutes and then we arrived in Schiermonnikoog. We rent bicycle for traveling around the island because cars aren\'t allowed, so you can get fresh air here. Unfortunately, the weather wasn\'t good and it was raining so we soaked all the way!

After 15 minutes on bike, we were on the beach. There were a few people so we got enough space to do activities. The boys played football and some of us took photos. But I did something else, walking on bare foot! Hannie (my LC), my friend and I walked on the sand. It was pretty cold and wet. We also found some lovely shells so we decided to collect them.

According to schedule, we would have a picnic nearby the beach, but we couldn\'t (because of the bad weather). So we went back to the centre to have lunch. After we ate and our clothes dried, we had free-time to explore the island by ourselves. My friends and I had planned to join the bike\'s trip but unfortunately the price was too much, so we went to Shell\'s Museum, instead. The museum isn\'t big but full lots of shells and ocean animals. Every single of them have its own story and some came from different countries. The owner is very kind. He has collected all of shells for 40 years and he still does it with his wife and his children. He also gave us a big shell as a souvenir!

When it was almost three o\'clock, we said good-bye to him and went back to the centre. We visited some shops before we were together at the meeting point. Then, we cycled to the harbor and took a ship to go back to Groningen. We had a dinner while the ship was sailing. Before we came to Schiermonnikoog, we had duty to bring some drinks and food for picnic (but because of weather, then we had to change the plan). We ate and talked until we arrived in Groningen.

The trip is over and everyone seems like it. I hope I can come there when the weather is better. But first I have to clean my room because the sand in my socks just mess it!
